Preventify LLC ("Preventify," "we," "us," or "our") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Preventify mobile application ("App") and our website at preventifyapp.com (the "Site") collect, where it is stored, and the choices you have. By using Preventify, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Overview: What Is Stored Where
Preventify keeps your training data in two places:
- On your device: your settings, your legal acceptances, and a working copy of your progress (check-ins, workouts, points, streaks, and achievements) so the App is fast and keeps working when you are offline.
- In your account, in our cloud database hosted by Supabase: your account profile, your daily check-in inputs, the workouts generated for you, one workout-completion record per day, any feedback or survey answers you send us from the App, and automatic video-playback reports. This is what lets your progress follow you to a new phone and lets our servers build each day's workout.
If you subscribe, your App Store purchase record is also held by our subscription provider, RevenueCat (Section 2j).
Creating an account is part of setup; the App does not send anything to our servers without one.
2. Information We Collect
a. Account Information Your name, email address, and password. Authentication is provided by Supabase Auth. Your password is stored only as a salted hash on Supabase's authentication servers; Preventify staff never see it.
b. Profile and Training Preferences Age, gender, primary sport, position (baseball and softball), years playing, weekly session goal, and your answer to "How did you hear about Preventify?" (for example Instagram, a friend, or a coach, with an optional detail you may type). These are used to tailor your workouts and to understand which channels bring athletes to Preventify.
c. Daily Check-Ins and Workouts Each day you check in, the App sends your answers (sleep, energy, soreness and sore area, chosen focus area, perceived exertion, minutes trained yesterday, and time available) to our servers, which build that day's workout. The check-in inputs and the generated workout are stored with your account, along with whether and when the workout was completed. Library sessions you choose on your own are not recorded.
d. Workout Completions At most one workout-completion record per calendar day, containing the workout name, your sport, your gender, and the date. We use this to understand engagement and consistency (for example, which sports most consistently complete workouts).
e. Feedback and Surveys You Send If you use "Send feedback" in the App, we store your message, the type of feedback you chose, your account identifier, the platform and App version, and a contact email only if you type one in. If you answer the in-app feedback survey, we store your answers (ratings, the options you pick, and any text you type) with your account identifier, platform and App version.
f. Activity Signals To understand whether athletes keep using the App, we record the time you last used it, your platform (iOS, Android, or web), and the App version, at most once per hour.
g. App Settings (device only) Reminder preferences, display preferences, safety disclaimer acceptance, and terms acceptance stay on your device.
h. Technical Data When the App contacts our servers or checks for updates, your IP address is transmitted as part of the request. It is not used to derive or store your location and is not linked to your profile.
i. Site Contact Information If you join a waitlist or contact us through the Site, we collect the email address and any optional details you submit so we can reply.
j. Subscriptions and Purchases Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. Preventify never receives your payment card details. Our subscription provider, RevenueCat, receives your account identifier and the App Store's record of your purchase (which plan, purchase and renewal dates, free-trial and renewal status) so the App can confirm your subscription on every device you sign in to.
k. Video Playback Reports If an exercise video does not start, or is slow to start, the App sends us a short technical report: the video's identifier, the timing of the video player's events (for example loaded, buffering, playing), your iOS and App version, and your account identifier. It contains no check-in or profile information and is used only to fix video playback.
3. Information We Do NOT Collect
Preventify does not collect, transmit, or have access to:
- Your plaintext password
- Medical diagnoses, treatment history, or clinical data
- Surgeries, medications, or imaging results
- Heart rate, blood pressure, VO₂ max, or other biometric data
- Precise or approximate location
- Contacts, photos, or other device content
- Advertising identifiers (no data is shared with advertising networks)
- Any information considered Protected Health Information (PHI) under HIPAA
Your check-in answers about soreness and energy are self-reported training-readiness inputs, not medical assessments.
4. How We Use Information
- To create and secure your account
- To generate your daily injury-risk-reduction workout
- To show your progress, points, streaks, and achievements, and to restore them if you reinstall the App or switch phones
- To understand, in aggregate, how consistently athletes in each sport complete workouts, and which channels bring athletes to Preventify
- To read and respond to feedback and survey answers you send us
- To provide your subscription and confirm it is active
- To find and fix video playback problems
- To show a daily reminder on your device if you turn reminders on (reminders are scheduled locally; we do not operate a push-notification server)
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
5. Service Providers
Your account and training data are hosted for us by Supabase, a cloud database and authentication provider that acts as our data processor. Supabase's handling of that data is governed by its privacy policy at https://supabase.com/privacy.
Exercise demonstration videos are streamed from Vimeo; when you play a video, Vimeo receives the standard information any video player sends (such as your IP address) under Vimeo's privacy policy.
The App is built and updated using Expo Application Services; when the App checks for an update, Expo's servers receive standard request information such as your IP address and App version.
Subscriptions are managed for us by RevenueCat, which receives your account identifier and your App Store purchase record (Section 2j) under its privacy policy at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
The App is distributed through the Apple App Store, which handles installation and processes subscription payments under Apple's privacy policy. Preventify never receives your payment card details.
Apart from the service providers listed in this section, we do not share, sell, rent, trade, or transfer your data to any third party.
6. Minor Users: Strict Age Restriction
Preventify is strictly prohibited for users under the age of 13. There are no exceptions, including with parental or guardian consent.
The App asks for your age when you create an account and will not create an account for anyone under 13. By confirming your age, you represent and warrant that you are 13 years of age or older.
Users between 13 and 17 years of age should use the App with the awareness and permission of a parent or legal guardian.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
Your account data is kept for as long as your account exists.
You can delete your account at any time from within the App: open Profile (or, without a subscription, the subscription screen), choose "Delete Account," and confirm. This immediately and permanently deletes your account, your profile, and all check-ins, workouts, and completion records from our servers, and clears the App's data on your device. You can also choose "Reset Progress" to delete your training history while keeping your account.
Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel it in your Apple ID settings (Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions). Apple keeps its own records of your purchases under its policies.
Feedback, survey answers and video reports are kept after deletion with your account identifier removed, so they can no longer be linked to you. If you typed a contact email into a feedback message and want it removed, email us and we will delete it.
Aggregate statistics (for example, the total number of workouts completed on a given day) are retained and cannot identify you.
If you can no longer access the App, email preventifyapp@gmail.com from the address on your account and we will delete it for you.
Uninstalling the App removes the data stored on your device but does not delete your account.
8. Data Security
Data travels between the App and our servers over encrypted connections (TLS). Access to account data is protected by row-level security rules so that each athlete can only read their own records. On your device, data is stored using the standard storage mechanisms provided by iOS and Android. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Not Medical Advice
Preventify provides general injury-risk-reduction and movement guidance for informational purposes only. The App does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment and should not replace consultation with a qualified healthcare professional. Users should discontinue use and consult a medical professional if discomfort or injury occurs.
10. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Preventify is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Account creation enforces a minimum age of 13. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will delete the account and its data. Parents or guardians who believe a child has created an account may contact us at preventifyapp@gmail.com.
11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
California residents have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to Know: the categories of information we hold are described in Section 2. You can see your profile and workout history in the App at any time.
- Right to Delete: use "Delete Account" in the App (Section 7) or email preventifyapp@gmail.com.
- Right to Opt-Out: Preventify does not sell personal information.
- Non-Discrimination: Preventify does not discriminate against users who exercise their privacy rights.
12. Where Preventify Is Offered
Preventify is offered only in the United States. It is operated by Preventify LLC, located in the State of Texas, and your account data is stored on servers in the United States.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated policy will be made available within the App and on the Site. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
